Miss Orangina 2017 crowns Kesten Fongwa winner for South West Region
Kesten Fongwa beats nine beauty queens to emerge as winner of the Miss Orangina 2017 pageant for the South West Region on March 25.
Kesten, 20, dazzled the jury in four diverse attires pus her intellect, to become the face of the prestigious beverage at the regional contest held at Chariot hotel, Buea on Saturday night.
“I am overwhelmed… I lack words to express how I feel. I could never have imagined this but I just thank God for everything,” the dark skin beauty explains her victory to DCODED TV.
Kesten’s winning price is a whopping 1.5 million Francs CFA and on how she plans to spend it?
“I will use my money to improve on my mother and her farming business,” the beauty queen reveals to the jury. “I believe giving her the money is the right thing for me to do because she’s the reason I stand here today, she’s my inspiration and I can never thank her enough for all she’s done for me. She has taught me to never give up no matter the circumstances and never fail to push myself with the little I have. I also know she will use the money to further my education and improve on our family’s living standard.”
Kesten also revealed that she’s not shy to go in the business of agriculture because “it’s what I have always known to do to survive and I think with money, I can make agriculture even easier and more beautiful among young people.”
Kesten Fongwa will face the other regional winners from the Littoral and Centre Regions at the Miss Orangina 2017 Grand Finale on April 25 in Yaounde.
Goodluck Keston!
