9yr old Cameroonian joins Manchester City FC
A 9 year old Cameroonian has been signed on to join the phenomenal Under 9 squad of Manchester City Football Club in England.
Tristan Achu, who turns seven this October was announced as the new player for the club’s under 9 squad earlier this week with official pictures released by the club on all their social media platforms.
According to Tristan’s mother, Lua Fongod Achu, the young man has always loved to play football since his early age and so this is like a dream come true for him.
“He’s very savy,” Lua tells us exclusively. “He just loves to play football,” she adds.
As for how Tristan feels about his latest big deal, his mother says, he acknowledges what is happening and is very happy to play his game… something he loves very dearly.
“He [Tristan] didn’t really show any more interest than the average boy towards football, until during the 2014 world cup. He followed Cameroon and knew the match schedules so we let him stay up late to watch them. I could see he was getting really passionate, angry and frustrated at the teams showing, maybe because he had told his friends at school about Cameroon, or just maybe he had just been bitten by the bug. Well from this point on, he wanted to play, maybe thinking he is the answer to Cameroons problems,” Tristan’s parents wrote in a joint statement.
“For Tristan to attend such heights in little time, tells it was a step path. He walked it with work, joy, luck and commitment. But we know its just a milestone of many possible he will have to reach. For us his parents we will walk with him, until he prefers another challenge,” the statement read.
