Makossa icon Nguea LaRoute versus angry fans, celebs and makeup artists and it’s all because of her recent looks at public places.
The music star has been slammed lately for wearing hideous makeup in photos and videos with the most recent being a promo jingle she made for her June 17 concert in Philadelphia.
In the video, Mama Nguea, as she’s fondly called, is wearing a green top tied to the side, tacky green lipstick, flashy silver colored eye shadow and a very artistically drawn eyebrows. She called herself “Mama Android rolling on 5G” even though her looks seemed far from contemporary.
Immediately, fans reacted to the image/video wondering if the singer knew what she was doing looking like she did.
“C’est quoi tous ce peinure sur son visage… La reme si hein vraiment,” one fa wrote
“Come and save your aunty,” another writes
“Is this real? Whatever happened to Mama Nguea? She needs help!” another goes on to write.
“My friend in the US said he was ashamed to tell her friends she was a Cameroonian when they saw this video. I pray a makeup artist kidnaps her in the US and revamps her,” another fan writes.
“OMG! What happened to her? She’s awful!” another writes.
Other Cameroonian celebs also chipped in their thoughts about Mama Nguea’s recent image. Celebrity makeup artist Corine Lastar Ndome has offered to help the icon with free makeup whenever she wants.
“I don’t even understand why she’s talking and smiling with that kind of makeup on her face with all the makeup artists we have in Cameroon… Why is she calling herself mama android 5G? She’s not representing I swear,” Corine added to her pledge.
Actress Stephanie Tum also raised her concern for the singer writing, “Wonderful thing!! She needs serious help and she looks sick though.”
Fashion designer, Anrette Ngafor also wrote, “Whoever is promoting her could at least get her a stylist… looking at her I will not go.”
While Ebangha Nkwanyuo of EB Kreations was concerned over her outfit. “Why can’t she dress her age?” she worried.
Mama Nguea is considered one of Cameroon’s most iconic Makossa artists with a career spanning over two decades. This new image made headline back in March when a picture of her wearing loud makeup, a sheer red shirt showing off her black bra pooped up online.
