Clinton Njie dropped from Confederations Cup 2017 squad
Clinton Njie has been left out of the Indomitable Lions 23-man squad heading to this year’s Confederation Cup in Russia come June. Does this decision have anything to do with his alleged cold war with football legend, Milla Roger?

Head coach Hugo Broos claims Njie does not ‘deserve’ a spot on the team and there’s nothing he can do about it.
“Clinton is not there, why? Listen, when you watched the games, Clinton played in Gabon [CAN 2017] do I have to hold Clinton in the group? I apologize but he does not deserve,” Brooz said during a press conference at the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) headquarters in Yaounde on Monday, May 29.
This shocking announcement comes only months after rumors spread of Clinton’s brouhaha with football icon, Roger Milla in Gabon. As we previously reported, the young football star refused to shake hands with Milla after the Indomitable Lions victory against Guinea Bissau back in January for reasons best known to the Anglophone football star.
It’s now alleged that the football team is been controlled by a network commonly called “Mafioso”. They are responsible for the sale of places/spots within the Lions squad. An allegation Broos denies.
“I am telling you, and this is going to be the last time I’m going to say it, maybe in the past its been different… there’s no influence from anyone!” Broos assured the press.
“It is I who decides and I alone decide. If tomorrow and you can be sure – the president asks me to a player, I resign directly,” he added.
The Lions will return to the training ground in Cameroon on June 5 and will continue training in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea in the weeks ahead.
