Tenor, Universal Music Group sued by War Machine Music Entertainment
Tenor and his new record label, Universal Music Group have been slapped with a fresh lawsuit from the rapper’s former boss, Dex Willy just hours after the rapper inked a new music deal.
Dex Willy, owner of Tenor’s former record label, War Machine Music Entertainment is taking Universal Music Group and the “Do Le Dab” rapper to court claiming the label still has rights over the rapper.
According to reports, Tenor, his current manager, Taphis Official and his mother have been refusing to meet with Dex Willy to trash out pending issues based on his sudden departure from War Machine last March.
A source close to Willy tells us that Dex has repeatedly called the trio for a sit down since he returned from the USA few months ago but they have never showed up. Another source claims, Dex was the one who handed over Tenor to Taphis to control while he was away in the US for further studies.
Reports say Tenor‘s mother later teamed up with Taphis to take Tenor off War Machine record label because they had a bigger proposal in the pipe line which Dex had no knowledge about.
In documents filed November 24 in Yaounde, Dex claims War Machine was not in agreement to Tenor’s departure from the label and mentioned that money which had been spent in producing and promoting Tenor’s music and videos hasn’t been paid back since he left the label eight months ago.
Dex Willy is now asking that Tenor settles his account with the label, War Machine before signing any new contract – else he faces legal actions.
