6 Ways to wear make up in hot weather

Makeup is a trend now and it comes with various styles and layers. As with most trends, people either rock it or trash it careless the weather. But how can one survive a perfect face beat under hot weather conditions?

I know of some die hard makeup fans who will go no where without a full face beat; even if it means reapplying each time you sweat. So today I have some few tips which will go a long way and still have your face looking beat under heat!

You may be familiar with some of these tips but please pay attention to the details.

1. Ease Up on Your Normal Routine

Under a blazing sun, a full face of makeup can turn runny so be strategic about what you apply. When possible, choose a powder formulation: It will help soak up any oil. To cover a pimple or a blemish, skip an overall foundation and use a spot concealer instead. Or if you are the makeup enthusiast, you can as well use the powder before foundation to keep you matte and fresh even under harsh sun.

2. Eyes

Because eye shadows can crease or run in the heat, you might want to forgo it and swap in a kohl eye liner instead. If you feel naked without an eye shadow, sweep on a primer before applying it. The primer will give it longevity and help prevent slippage.
To avoid runoff, go for a water-resistant or waterproof formula, since any kind of moisture: humidity, tears, or sweat will make regular mascara come off. Lightly touch the wand to your lashes and apply quick layers before the formula starts to dry. Warning! Applying after the mascara dries can cause clumping and flaking.

3. Lips

Steamy heat tends to melt lipstick, causing it to smear. So a quick fix will be to apply lip liner first to keep the color in place. (Lip pencil will also keep color from migrating into lines around your mouth, should you have any.) Keep liner from looking too severe by matching it to your lipstick or to your natural lip tone—your best bet when choosing a sheer lipstick or gloss, is to go with lip gloss but don’t forget to moisturize with lip balm before application.

4. Skip Heavy Fragrances

In this weather, it is advisable to skip all the heavy fragrance or perfumes that we own and stick to lighter body splashes. This is because we tend to produce a lot of sweat in a hot weather and if you go heavy on perfume, you may end up giving off a displeasing scent. Another key is to take cold baths and use natural items such as lemons for a whip of freshness

5. Let your Shades bring the heat

The dry season is a great time to experiment with bold hues and rich colors which look incredible against the skin. Instead of wearing so much eye shadow, a simple orange or blue can bring out a loud statement. Remember that nail polish you bought that looked vibrant in the bottle but turned out to be disappointingly sheer? No need to toss it. Just brush on an inexpensive opaque white polish before applying the color: The white will perk it up.

6. Don’t forget the Sunscreen

Sunscreen should be part of your regular routine, but when you’re outside for a longer time, you need to be sure you’re applying one that’s broad-spectrum. Look for a sunscreen with stable UVA shields, which can be used on the body, too. Be careful where you stash it. Keep it away from sunlight especially during the dry season (same for lip balm with SPF). Once it heats up in the sun, the high temperatures can cause the sunscreen’s active ingredients to degrade, which means you won’t be getting the SPF that’s indicated on the bottle. In fact, you might be applying nothing more than a thick moisturizer. (And the lip balm can melt, to boot.)
