March Against Slavery Los Angeles: Sahndra Fon Dufe, Constance Ejuma join campaign
After shocking images surfaced online late 2017 showing slavery and slave trade currently happening in some parts of North Africa (case study, Libya), a Non-Government Organization – March Against Slavery Los Angeles – has been created to raise awareness and fight against slavery in 2018.
Cameroonian actresses, Constance Ejuma and Sahndra Fon Dufe have both joined other stars, athletes, human right activists and hundreds of other volunteers to help the same NGO to call for the immediate stop to Slavery and Slave Trade in Libya and other parts of the world.
Both actresses have long posted images of themselves bearing a strong message for a stop to slavery in Africa on their individual Instagram pages alongside other participants.
With the hashtag #marchagainstslaverylosangeles the organization says, “It’s time for #LosAngeles to take action and stand against slavery in Libya… We are raising our voices to tell the people of Libya that we are not silent on their plight! Help associations rescuing migrants, bring awareness, and raise your voice!”
The movement is now being backed by the United Nations of Migration Agency (UNMA) and according to statistics, the global human trafficking industry generates nearly $32 billion yearly in profits. The organization is asking, “what will happen if everyone cared?”
The March Against Slavery Los Angeles is scheduled to hold, January 27 downtown L.A. Feel free to join the march and make your voice heard.
