Charlotte Dipanda to celebrate 10 years in music with 4th studio album, “Un Jour Dans Ma Vie”
To mark her 10th year anniversary in music, Cameroonian music icon, Charlotte Dipanda plans to drop her fourth studio album titled “Un jour dans ma vie”.
From Longue in 2008 to Elle N’a Pas Vu released in back 2015, Charlotte Dipanda has no doubt changed or influenced the lives of many Cameroonians through her music. Her smooth and delicate style of delivery have not only garnered her a huge fan base, but her thrilling performances have made her a music powerhouse in Cameroon.
The singer will be celebrating her 10th career anniversary in a few days and at the same time, releasing her 4th album titled “Un jour dans ma vie”.
Dipanda began singing since she was a child. Born on July 18, 1985 in Yaoundé, she grew up between Yaoundé, Douala and Mbouda in the West of Cameroon. At the age of 15, she began performing in cabarets and later dropped out of school in Form 5 at a Government high school in order to focus on music.
Charlotte Dipanda is a one-of-a-kind music artist, a songwriter who has fashioned her musical style after phenomenal legends of Cameroon music such as Ben Decca, TOTO Guillaume, Lokua Kanza, Bebe MANGA, Cesaria Evora and Jeannot Hens.
Her first hit, Longue came in 2001 after a powerful collaboration with her then godfather, Jeannot Hens. She later moved to France and registered for a training program at Institut Art Culture Perception (IACP) in Paris. There she trained under Papa Wemba (late) on recommendation by Lokua Kanza. She however later did many collaborations with icons like MANU Dibango, Idrissa DIOP, Rokia TRAORE and Axelle RED.
In 2008, the singer unveiled her first ever album she called MISPA – which she named after her late mother. Then in 2012, she dropped her second album, titled Dube L’am (In English, my faith), in collaboration with Guy Nsangue, featuring songs in French, Douala and Bakaka. Three years later (2015), Charlotte released her third album called, Massa made up of 10 tracks including, “Ndolo Bukate”, “Aléa MBA “and “Kénè So”.
The Voice Afrique coach now plans to release her fourth studio album, “Un Jour Dans Ma Vie” at a grand at the Yaoundé Multi-sport complex on March 31 . She also plans on meeting fans at the Douala Castel Hall on March 29, 2018.
According to reports, the multiple award winning singer could also be launching her foundation to improve the lives of young Cameroonian girls.
