Cameroonian NBA superstar, Joel Embiid can’t seem to let go on his struggle to date pop superstar, Rihanna.
The Sixers star has not only once or twice showed his interest for the “Love On the Brain” singer on interviews and on Twitter but while
recovering from a recent surgery to repair an orbital fracture on April 1, Embiid did the unthinkable. The medicated sportsman kind of asked Rihanna out… On Twitter!

Although Joel denied trying to date Rihanna in an interview in 2014 — “No no, it’s not like that. I’m just messing,” he said to Billboard — he’s still having fun with this.

Well, before Embiid even became the NBA star he is today, he publicly aired out his desire to date Rihanna when he revealed that a mystery woman — who everyone assumed was Rihanna — turned him down because he wasn’t an All-Star. So when he became an All-Star, fans began asking Rihanna questions on social media. Well, RiRi is yet to say a word.
However, Embiid has once been linked to reality TV star and model, Olivia Pierson. Unless you’re a dedicated E! or reality TV fan, you probably not know her. Pierson is one of the stars of WAGS, a show which “chronicles the professional and personal lives of several wives and girlfriends of high-profile sportspersons.”
In February 2017, Pierson left a nice Valentine’s Day message to Embiid for her 1.5 million followers to see but few days later, Embiid described the supposed relationship as “fake…. fake news”.
As for Rihanna, she’s currently dating her billionaire boyfriend, Jameel Hassan, a Saudi businessman from one of the richest families in the world. According to reports, the Jameels are said to be worth over £1.1 billion and Forbes ranks them as the 12th wealthiest Arabs in the world. Hassan is believed to inherit the family fortune one day.
