Cameroonian model Beriline Likane advocates for better child education
For her back-to-school campaign, Cameroonian model, Beriline Likane is taking the lead and calling for every child in Cameroon to go to school because education is the key to success.
The beautiful model’s powerful statement on education is coming right about the time when most children in the South West and North West Regions of Cameroon have been out of school since January 2017, thanks to the current Anglophone Crisis.
It’s no longer news that the rise of this social unrest raveling the aforementioned regions for nearly two years have caused many schools to shut down and many parents transferring their kids to the French-speaking regions of the country to try and get some sort of education during these academic years.
Many English-speaking children have not seen the four walls of a classroom since the beginning of 2017 and others have resigned to helping their parents at home or their business places for the time being.
Beriline now says, she was one those happiest kids in her younger days whenever it was back-to-school period but today, she’s sad because most pupils do not think of school due to fear of soldiers surrounding their classes round the clock or them being shot for political reasons.
“I remember in my school days when it was back to school i was so happy to resume school but now back to school has been something that Children don’t want to hear from because of fear of studying while soldiers are litter everywhere, Children being at home, some pregnant, parents afraid of sending their children to school etc .God please safe my Country Cameroon (Pray for Cameroon)” Beriline wrote underneath an Instagram post on September 14.
