Margo’s Mode Latest Collection ‘Pin Me’ Breathes Life to African Creativity
Cameroonian fashion brand, Margo’s Mode founded by Ngwane Liz has released its latest collection tagged, ‘Pin Me’ and it’s everything you want. The Collection debuted at the Returnees Awards Event in Douala on December 14.
Margo’s Mode‘s latest mixed gender collection titled, ‘Pin Me’ features some of Cameroonian top models as the Muse, with the idea of recreating every look to pass across a message of self love, elegance and confidence.
“Each collection I make tells a story, imparts emotion, sincerity and depth to my clothing. This is why my collections do not just appear as just garments nor fabric, but a tale from the heart,” Liz tells us.
The collection is a fusion of a familiar African look but with a touch of the brand’s identity – being different. The Creative Director plays with colors, buttons, cuts and paint to add flavour to this collection’s true meaning.
The ‘Pin Me’ Collection is different from the brand’s previous works – The Heritage Collection and H-Collection – released back in 2017.
“Pin Me promises made, promises broken. Its a collection based on the hopes of a promise that is only to be taken away. Inspired by the pinning of a woman by a man as a promise of love. Pin Me combines romance and heartache; the optimism of being pinned with the devastation of having your heart pierced,” Liz explains her latest collection.
There’s an authentic mix and harmony of masculinity and femininity which features tulles, lace, sheer, delicate hand beaded designs, tartan and ankara.
The collection draws its strength from the creator’s vision and personal story of falling in love, rising up from a nasty break up and dusting off to walk again. Infusing sexiness unto a woman’s broken heart is a key touch into finding self love and inner power again. Something we all need each day.
The white body hugging gown which features a lower back line, red design on the arms and tiny fishnet hat is a touch of bridal added to the collection for women who defy the norm. The beautiful paint splashed on the male model’s white African design outfit mixes familiarity with uniqueness to give African men a more chic look.
The black mini gown featuring a huge red design at the front and blue ribbons at the arms is a clear indication that every woman can survive dark days. It means she can indeed handle breakups and lighten up the next day for other date night.
‘Pin Me Collection‘ also brought in the local African ‘ankara’ fabric to remind us that no woman, rural or urban, is exempted from being loved and happy. These pieces exude confidence, style and tells of a woman who’s ready to move on with life.
This collection was debuted at the Returnees Event in Douala and is now available.
