Golden Globes Awards 2019: Our Favourite Red Carpet Looks
Hollywood men and women walked down the red carpet at the 76th annual Golden Globe Awards in top fashion brands at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, January 6, 2019, in Beverly Hills, California and traffic stopped! Check out our favorite red carpet looks and tell us what you think.
From established fashion brands such as Dior and Chanel to young regional labels like Emirati designer Khyeli, the Golden Globes red carpet provided an exciting fashion kick-off for the award season in Hollywood. There were lots of plunging necklines, metallics, bows, velvet and capes at the Golden Globes this year! Lots to love and be inspired by and then, there were others who simply didn’t get the memo!

In her attempt to pay a special tribute to actress, Judy Garland from the 1954 version of ‘A Star Is Born,’ Lady Gaga arrived at Golden Globe Awards in a custom Valentino gown and our mouths dropped. A princess had arrived! She was oozing of a classic old Hollywood vibe and we loved it!
There was never any doubt all eyes were always going to be on Gaga for the big night, but just in case there weren’t any – she carried along an option B in the form of her dazzling ensemble. It was an ALL-Check situation including a matching coloured hair!
Gaga wasn’t the only bold factor! This year’s Golden Globes saw quite a number of bold looks on the red carpet. The pop of colour phenomenon couldn’t just pass us by. Stars like Halle Berry in a bold wine Zuhair Murad gown, Lupita Nyong’O in a cobalt dress by Calvin Klein, Nicole Kidman in bold wine leather Michael Kors gown and the be-the-reds gand made up of Lili Reinhart in Khyeli, Danai Gurira in custom Radart gown with a large bow on the shoulder as well as Camilla Belle who channeled her inner Elizabeth Taylor in a custom bold printed gown by Jason Wu and Catherine Zeta Jones in a green satin gown by Elie Saab all made the red carpet vibrant.
The colors pink and nude also featured quite a lot at this year’s Golden Globes. Some Hollywood stars decided to go subtle with their looks as they slipped their gorgeous bodies into big ball gowns or body-hugging dresses. Actresses like Emmy Rossum arrived in a Monique Lhuillier pink ball gown, Lucy Liu in a soft yet dramatic Galia Lahav couture gown, Emily Blunt in Alexander McQueen see-through dress, while ‘Crazy Rich Asian’ star, Constance Wu stunned in Vera Wang nude tulle gown with a velvet bow. Hollywood giants, Emma Stone chose a pale pink Louis Vuitton gown while Pretty Woman superstar, Julia Roberts went for a Stella McCartney pantsuit.
The very familiar ‘Black and White’ ensemble also took center stage at the Golden Globes. You can hardly go wrong in Black, White or both and that’s why stars like Charlize Theron showed up in a signature sleek look by Dior, ‘Aquaman’ star, Amber Heard went for an overwhelming old-fashion British look by Monique Lhuillier, Sandra O in an angelic white Atelier Versace gown and E! News host, Giuliana Rancic in Gucci, Dakota Fanning in Giorgio Armani and Sofia Carson in a complicated Giambattista Valli gown featuring her sexy hot red lips.
The Golden Globes Awards 2019 red carpet wouldn’t be complete without some animal prints like the Elie Saab gown worn by Anne Hathaway. Singer and actress, Janelle Monae chose a dramatic Chanel while Cookie Lyon aka Taraji P. Henson kept it bold and classic in a custom forest green velvet Vera Wang dress featuring a deep plunging neckline and some eye-popping Roberto Coin diamonds. It was all about the glow.

The sequins and crystals were also not left out. Golden Globes 2019 winner, Regina King came in dripping in sparkles; donning a sweet pink sequins Alberta Ferretti gown. Irina Shayk showed up in a rich golden sparkling gown by Versace and Saoirse Ronan in a custom glistening Gucci gown.
This year’s Golden Globes Awards red carpet was amaze-ballz! Stars came prepared to shine or should I say outshine themselves? The designers did a great job and the stylists even did better than last year. What I noticed this year is that there was a serious pop of color happening on the red carpet but for some reason, everything seemed simmered to perfectly blend with the environment and bring out the beauty of pop culture.
