Urban Jamz Awards 2019: Two Artists reject nominations after unveil
The Urban Jamz Awards 2019 has released its full list of nomination but some of the nominees are calling on the organisation to take down their names from the list. But why?
Cameroonian singer, Mel B. Akwen and rapper, Yung Time are asking the Urban Jamz Awards nomination committee to take down their names from the various categories they’ve been nominated on.
Rapper, Yung Time, who got a nod for featuring in ‘Business’, by Blahk Santa and Skidi Boii went on a Facebook rant, February 25, calling out the awards show for being bias and “childish”. We’re still not sure about the reasons behind the young rapper’s outrage but maybe it has something to do with him not picking up any nomination for his individual work last year.
Yung Time isn’t the only artist calling for his name to be dropped off the nomination list. Singer Mel B Akwen has also made her intentions clear about her ‘Best female Artist’ nomination. She has crossed her name off the nod list and said she’s not interested … with no further reasons.
