Rapper Ko-C joins ‘No To Artist Exploit’ campaign

Cameroonian rapper, Ko-C is lending his voice to the ‘No To Artist Exploit’ campaign and here’s why.

The #NoToArtistExploit campaign was introduced on social media by music group, Rythmz on March 31, slamming against the exploitation of Cameroonian music artists by showbiz sponsors and event organisers.

According to group member, PhillBillBeatz, the campaign was stemmed from a recent incident in Douala where music sensation, Nyangono Du Sud  was disrespected by sone event organisers.

A source tells us Nyangono du Sud  was treated poorly by some event organisers in Douala after using the singer’s picture on event flyers and billboards to sell out tickets for a concert he wasn’t even the main act. On the day of the show, the artist was not even allowed to get into the venue by the security team.

Rythmz to leave Empire Company record label

The member of the music group, Rythmz launched the #notoartistexploit campaign on Facebook, March 31 while sharing hints about a possible exit from Pit Baccardi‘s Empire Company record label.

Although Rythmz received heavy backlash on social media for coming out with the campaign – with some fans claiming the group isn’t patient enough to withstand the storm of show business with one record label as well as the campaign being snubbed by so many other urban artists – rapper Ko-C believes there is a need to speak out against artist exploitation in Cameroon.

The Big Dreams Entertainment star power took to his Facebook page, April 8 posting about the campaign with a strong message of ‘enough is enough’ to go with it.
