Laura Onyama’s Fashion Marathon for Saving Mbango national movie premiere
Laura Onyama is the definition of Cameroon Fashion Week in itself!
Laura Onyama took Cameroon by storm as she embarked on the press tour and premiere of her new film, Saving Mbanga since October 2019. The actress has been out and about the nation slaying one beautiful outfit to the next!
Onyama clearly owned the streets with her memorable fashion statements while making media runs and appearing on red carpets for the movie’s major city premieres in Douala, Yaounde, Bamenda and Buea.
She has indeed offered a “Cameroon fashion week” to herself. Throughout the promotion and premiere of her film, we saw the dark skin beauty parade in nothing less than six different beautiful outfits… all locally designed by home based designers.
In most cases, Laura embraced her feminine side by rocking pretty dresses whether mini or full length – but she also switched things up by combining contrasting fabrics, African prints and silhouettes.
Laura’s fashion-forward outings mark her first glamorous public appearances since her last at the Cameroon International Film Festival in 2018. Speaking to us at the Douala premiere in October, the actress opened up about her growth.
“This is major! It’s like a dream… For me, this movie has opened our eyes and minds on so many things we actors are to do when it comes to respect to our crafts, our red carpet appearances and how to carry ourselves as role models,” the actress said.
“This is probably the first time I am putting so much thought to my public appearances; who I wear, what I wear and which makeup artist to work with. I believe having consistency with my fashion choices is most important and could go a pretty long way in defining who I am and how I want to be perceived as in this industry,” she added.
