Mimi Baya is fast rising into one of Cameroon’s most promising singers this year and she’s determined to use her music to change lives as well as make her country proud on the international scene.

But let’s a take a minute to know more about the UK-based singer/songwriter and performer.

1. Mimi Baya hails from Lobe Estate, Ndian Division, South West Province but she’s originally from the North West Region of Cameroon.
2. She may appear in her videos all alone but Mimi says family means everything to her and that she grew up in a large family.
3. Music is Mimi’s life! She began singing her own songs from late June 2016 and already has 3 singles and 2 music videos below her belt!  “I only used to sing songs that belong to other artists,” she told us.
4. Mimi’s music is dynamic just like her educational life! She changed schools a lot at the primary level. Then later attended PSS Mankon before getting into PCSS Buea for high school.
5. If you wonder what her fashion sense is about, she was never a dress-to-slay kind of girl. “I was the fleshy one,” she confessed. “Then I started seeing the beauty in fashion and began dressing to feel myself,” she added. Mimi’s mother is her biggest fashion inspiration.
