Amah Bertrand has dropped his reply for Cameroon Fashion Awards after the organization snubbed him on their nomination list for 2017. He says, “we don’t need awards to be recognized and accepted”.
As we earlier reported, the founder of Amah Fashion House brand was completely left out on the list of nomination for this year’s Cameroon Fashion Awards despite taking home the “Young Designer of the Year” at FIAFA 2017 in Buea.

Amah Bertrand wasn’t nominated for neither “Best Male Fashion Designer” nor “Best Young Fashion Designer” categories at CFA 2017. According to inside sources, the organization snubbed the young fashion designer due to alleged stories of fraud surrounding his craft.
Rumors have it that Amah does not design his own clothes, instead he buys already made clothes from tailors in and out of Cameroon and then place his logo on them. So, why then is he called a fashion designer if he allegedly doesn’t design his own clothes?

Well, Amah has responded to the CFA organizers in a post on Facebook, November 22 despite claiming he didn’t want to address the issue. Read please.
“We don’t need awards to be recognized and accepted. Awards are just motivational platforms encouraging, recognizing and appreciating talents. Let your passion and hard work speak for itself. Really our work speaks out for itself that’s why we find our Amahnians ( clients) glowing all over the world in our beautiful pieces. Some people’s heart are very evil. I’ve only preached love and unity among our own beautiful Cameroon and I still say no to hate.
In regards to the drama going on, Blogs and TV stations why Amah Fashion House wasn’t nominated for the Cameroon Fashion Awards organized by Fredash Nemfor Alfred who was the same person whose show I won the Young Best Designer 2017 in Buea. First of all, may I appreciate your efforts towards the growth of our Cameroon fashion industry. But when you bring in personal issues in between a platform like this its so unprofessional.
I choose to stay quiet about your issues doesn’t mean am dumb guy. Don’t you for ones think I can’t make articles and answer to blogs/TV about why I wasn’t nominated on your (Fredash’s Cameroon Fashion Award). I’ve chosen peace over hate but there’s no way I will tolerate such funny articles on blogs and TV stations discussing me on their platforms creating rooms for little talks and dramas without me addressing it.
I will expose a lot Fredash if I read one more disturbing story. Get to work and be professional. Stop acting too perfect when we are all trying to outgrow our mistakes to be the best at our various careers.
And to remind you and your friends that didn’t know: We (Amah Fashion House) remain one of Cameroons finest we don’t need validation.”
