The maiden edition of the Cliq Urban Music Festival scheduled to hold at the Omni Sport Complex in Buea on November 29 – December 3, will surely bring and most definitely add value and beauty to the celebration of Cameroon’s arts and culture.

The four-day music extravaganza, which is being organized by the Cliq Empire Company in partnership with music super star Mr. Leo, will give music and art lovers the opportunity to watch their favorite Cameroonian artistes perform live on stage for only a minimum fee. Over 30 artistes and 10 Disc jockeys are expected to be on stage to pull over 30,000 persons to the venue.

Among the list of artistes on parade are top Cameroonian urban music acts to be joined by some of the biggest African musicians from Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana.

In his speech at the official unveiling of the project at Chariot Hotel, Buea on July 11, co-founder, Mr. Leo guaranteed substantiation of the event, saying,

“It’s a festival to make people know there’s some seriousness into this thing called music. Cameroon was at the top of Africa’s entertainment years ago and somewhere along the line, we dropped but thanks to the media and the hard work put in by those in the entertainment and music business, we are coming back on top. Buea is at the center of it all. Buea is the center of attention at the moment because of the work we [artists] put in and its time we all celebrate our hard work and talents,” says Mr. Leo, brand ambassador and co-founder of Cliq Festival

Cliq Urban Music Festival shall henceforth be celebrated annually to celebrate Buea as a tourism destination. All Music and Entertainment loving Cameroonians, corporate bodies and government agencies are welcome to the groove.

“We have a website for the festival where anyone can volunteer to work with us but we want to assure the public that there will be series of activities to take place during this festival which will include workshops, charity football match and also a campaign that will be launched to discover rising talents who will benefit from a one year contract with Cliq Empire. The winner will have a collaboration with Mr. Leo, record and shoot a video with Dr. Nkeng Stephens and have his work marketed and promoted by the festival for one year Plus a cash price of 500,000 frs CFA. Cameroonians should look forward to a great event, the way concerts are supposed to be; not the way they are now,” Prince Mikel Enobi, co-founder Cliq Festival says.

On the issue of security, the organizers say they are working in collaboration with the government and the private sector to ensure every one – be it artists or fans – are protected at the concert ground.

“We have authority from the Buea Council, the D.O’s office and the police to go ahead with this festival. We are not only depending on the government for safety but we are also working with other private security companies to prevent any squabble,” says Enobi.

Cliq Festival is therefore ready to drive up the consumption and exportation of Cameroonian music, while augmenting touristic values of Buea.
