Can Tenor survive without War Machine Music Entertainment?
Can Cameroonian rapper, Tenor survive without his former record label, War Machine Music Entertainment? This is the question everyone begs for an answer after the rapper shocked his fans early Friday morning, May 26 when he posted news about his departure from his record label after just a year in business together.
Tenor is yet to reveal the real reason(s) behind his decision to kiss his former label goodbye but he did make mention of the fact that the split is smooth and amicable.
In an exclusive interview with a record label owner and entertainment business expert (wants to stay anonymous) on May 26, he explains what could have gone wrong between the rapper and War Machine. He also gives the possible impact of this split on both the artist [Tenor] and/or his label.
“Tenor before War Machine was already doing a lot of ‘tenor things’. His case wasn’t like that of an artist such as Mr. Leo whom his label started everything with him from scratch. Meaning Tenor came in as an already made artist. Sometimes it’s not easy for a record label to deal with artists and their attitudes, selfish behaviors and their little problems. To me, whatever might have gone wrong between Tenor and his label could have something to do with money and attitude problems,” the expert explains.

The questions on everyone’s lips are plenty; Did Tenor take the right decision to leave his label? What does the future hold for his musical career? Can he survive without the label and vise versa? According to our expert, the effect of the split truly depends on how it all started.
“The effect on the artist is not too much especially if he gets a good management and a good follow up. But if the artist is the type whose career was built and defined by that label, then he will probably suffer after such a split. However, if the label is also the type which is unable to pick up an artist and build him/her from scratch and/or may have signed him because he was already made, then the label could suffer a great loss. It all depends on who is more powerful and under what circumstances did they sign a contract.
“Looking at this situation, War Machine label is not that music power house which could pick up any artist any day anywhere and groom him or her to a superstar. It looked like Tenor was more powerful than the label,” he says.
About Tenor’s future in music, he explains that the rapper’s age and short stay in the music business so far could also be a disadvantage to him and if care is not take – better management and records, Tenor could easily fade off.
“I am afraid for tenor because he’s very young and I pray he falls in the hands of the right people after this split because if he doesn’t fall in the hands of the right people, he could just fade away in a matter of time.
I think he could make too many mistakes because he still needs grooming. He’s very young and crazy and there’s a lot of work to do with him and his talent and energy which to me War Machine wasn’t doing, especially when it came to his music. They were just following buzz and taking advantage of his craziness. He needs a label that can channel his energy into doing the kind of music that he will be respected for after some years. He’s the crazy guy and looks like the kind of guy whom if he doesn’t have a hit song tomorrow, he may just pass away like some of the few we’ve seen passing,” our experts explains.
We thank our music expert for the insightful revelation but what do you think about Tenor‘s future after his sudden split from War Machine Music Entertainment?
