Is Charlotte Dipanda gay or not?

That’s the one million dollar question on everybody’s lips after series of pictures of the singer cozying up to a mystery woman landed on social media early Wednesday morning, June 14.

Three photos (see photos below) showing the Cameroonian songstress in compromising positions with her mystery friend has caused a (social) media frenzy with no one confirming who the mystery lady is or who she is to the singer.

Now, many are questioning not only her sexuality – since she’s never been linked to any man – but why she’s still single. The 31-year-old  singer has pushed all questions about her romantic relationship status to the side when she said no woman is forced to get marry and she will marry whenever she’s ready.

In an interview with ‘The Voice Afrique Francophone’ back in December 2016, Dipanda shared her thoughts on love and marriage without mentioning if “her partner” was actually a male or female.

“All the married people I know are unhappy,” said the “Ell n’a pas vu” hit maker.

“Just to tell you that to me, marriage as you define it is not an objective in life. It is not an objective nor something that disturbs my sleep at night. ..  I love the idea of knowing that my man is afraid to lose me, that he does not considers me as a property. Moreover, I think that it is something that will come when I will find the person who shares the same values of marriage like me.

I don’t have the societal pressure that wants a woman to get married obligatorily, because we only get married when we are ready, and not because the society is imposing it on us. I live my life and I think I am in the phase of the vision on couple life today. I am very easy going by the quality of relationship I share with my partner. If it happens one day that I am no longer there, at that time, we shall see,” she went on.

However, other sources are now saying that the mystery woman in the pictures is her sister  even though our insider tells us otherwise

“It’s not her sister.. at least,not the one I know. I know at least one and this woman is not her,” says our source.

Charlotte Dipanda is an Afropop singer from Cameroon, who plays mostly acoustic music. Her lyrics are in French, her native language Bakaka, and in Douala.
