Musing Derick’s movie, ‘Tenacity’ sure deserves some accolades! From winning “Best Feature Film” at the 2018 Cameroon International Film Festival in Buea, the movie has just landed another major nod at the Golden Movie Awards Africa (GMAA) in Ghana.

‘Tenacity’ alongside four other Cameroonian films, including: ‘Two Ways’, ‘A Man For The Weekend’, ‘A Good Time To Divorce’ and ‘H2O’,  have all made the list of films that have qualified for the final stage of the Golden Movie Awards Africa billed to hold in Ghana this year.

Golden Movie Awards is an annual award that celebrates outstanding achievement in African television, digital media and film industries. It is administered by the expert in Cinema & Television, the Awards recognizes film Excellence in 30 categories for an international appeal. The inaugural edition was held on June, 27, 2015 at the State Banquet Hall, Ghana.

With nearly 30 categories at this year’s GMA, these five outstanding Cameroonian movies showed great screenplay, top notch production and great acting skills. These films have continued to make impact both home and abroad and its no doubt they’ve landed on  the list of films that have qualified for the final stage of the process.

Last year, movie producer, Brenda Elung and her new TV series, ‘Samba‘ scored a hard trick at the GMAA in Ghana.  As we reported, the series took home Best Actress (Ade Kelly) , Best TV Series and Best Actor (Libota McDonald), as well as a special jury appreciation.

The final nomination announcement will be held in Cote D’Ivoire on the May 20 where the various categories of the qualified films will be announced. The main event will hold in Ghana on June 2, 2018.
