EXCLUSIVE interview with Nollywood actress Philldella Yve

Philldella Yve is a Cameroonian young lady who got a shot at her acting career in Nigeria. She’s beautiful, poised and very talented. Yes, life hasn’t been easy for her but she has managed to pick things up, dust off and is now on her way to greatness. She has hopes, big dreams and the courage to get things done no matter what the challenges may seem.

Here’s our exclusive interview with the Nollywood actress.

1. What’s your nationality?

I’m a mixed birth daughter of Cameroon and Nigeria

2.  What do you love about your countries?

I love my both Countries , Nigeria is a land for ALL , Cameroon is very HOSPITABLE.

3. Why do you love acting?

My childhood was characterized by sufficient exposure to cartoon series on TV. The impact of this on my life became huge and the dream of acting found its way and gradually settled. My affectionate attachment to acting with initial attempts, staged in front of the mirror became an uncontrollable attitude, even to my best friend – my mum. Until the dream of becoming an actor turned into reality, I never stopped making frantic efforts to that effect. Philldela and acting have since then become best of friends. It’s my craft, I love it.

4. What was your first acting experience like?

Fright and nervousness! I had come on board with an erroneous spirit of confidence, drawn from my cartoon series days when mimicking mirror shows used to be order of the day. I had also developed a huge appetite for movies and would go rehearsing to build up skills like the actors I admired. I had done this to the extent of believing I was ripe for a real movie showdown. Behold, I almost sweated profusely when cameras were pointed at me on day one. The presence of much more qualified professionals sent me panting but at the end of the shoot, the producer and director were very impressed with my performance. Invitations to film have never stopped since then. I’m thankful to God.

5. What is your breakthrough movie?

I really can’t tell which I should consider my best movie. I’d rather stay with the hope that the best is yet to come. But if I must mention works that have marked me, I would go for Sponky Brown aka The Shy Village Girls & Foreigners. By the grace of God, this movie catapulted me to another level of my career in the  biggest film industry in Africa, Nollywood. I was privileged to have worked on this project with great talents including Zubby Michael, Chinere Wilfred, Harry B and Chacha Eke Fanni.

6. Who or  What inspires you?

Music does, traveling does! But, I get inspired more by positive people – people I look up to and surround my self with.

7. What’s your favorite delicacy and why?

I’m easy-going, when it comes to food. However, my anxiety would step up ten folds, if you inform me you’ll be preparing okra. Even uninvited, I’d come over – hahaha! But that would be for someone whose hygiene, I trust.

Thanks for accepting this interview.

My pleasure! My doors will always open to you. Thanks!
