Mr. Leo shares music business tips on KamerLink Magazine’s 1st issue
It’s all about Mr. Leo!
Drenched in style and wearing his yet-to-be bleached dreads, the Alpha Better Records star looked dapper for the first cover of the newly launched KamerLink Magazine.
The singer/songwriter becomes the first local celebrity to grace the cover of the mag, which will run as a collective edition that will cover entertainment and lifestyle news and feature stories.

In the debut issue of KamerLink, Mr. Leo talks about his childhood, musical journey and how he’s survived to be under one record label for over six years. The publication hits newsstands this December.
“Good music is good music. It doesn’t matter if it is coming from someone down the streets; what matters is if it’s real or natural,” the singer tells the mag.
The star also shares how he’s succeeded to earn a decent living out of music and has turned his passion into a genuine business, especially in a country where music isn’t considered more lucrative than politics.
“I don’t know who to detail out how I turned my passion into a living. I really don’t know how to explain that. I know I am a hardworking person. I work hard and I pray hard. I try my very best to keep a clean sheet… The rest is God.”

When asked why some other artists do not seem to find a recipe for success in music as he’s done, the singer replied,
“I think some of them focus too much on the music side of it, which is good but then they forget the business side of it and that’s where the problem is. It doesn’t end with you being a good singer or doing a good song but you have to make sure that song gives you money. This means people have to listen to it, then call you up for shows then pay you so that you make money as a business. Ask yourself… What am i producing? where am I producing? To whom am I producing? It helps you to know the kind of music and where. I cannot come to Cameroon and produce rock.”
Leo also notes that being being humble has great benefits. “The fact that I am Mr. Leo today and I am making money and succeeding with my career doesn’t mean I should become disrespectful and aggressive. What do I lose staying humble, absolutely nothing!”
