Ndedi Eyango’s daughters launch new La Ville Noire collection
Makossa music icon, Ndedi Eyango’s daughters are not sleeping when it comes to their baby fashion brand, La Ville Noire.
Mina and Kamala Eyango have just launched a new collection under their brand called “Africa To The World” Collection.
The new unisex collection (manufactured in West Africa) celebrates the African print but most essentially celebrates the beauty of being an African. The collection features a handful of wrapped dresses, male “bad boy” shirts and sexy cut out dresses suited for cocktails, dinner and casual events.
“This collection makes you stand out while rocking an African print. It’s particular about curves and physique and we want our young women to embrace the African look with style and glamour,” Mina tells us.
La Ville Noire was founded two years ago by the Eyango sisters: Kamala and Mina and they share a passion for the integration of African fashion in the Western market. With skin enlightenment campaigns and the prevalence of anti-African beauty standards, both sisters believe that young women in West Africa are one of the most marginalized and under-supported groups.
“There is a clear lack of structures that create and restore the confidence and support of young African women. Ville Noire is the beginning of this journey towards the empowerment of women in West Africa thanks to this line of clothing that celebrates autonomy,” says the girls.
