In his recent interview with “African Voices,” the multiple award winning rapper opens up for the very first time about his dream for Cameroon’s urban music and speaks about his fears, hope and what he considers the biggest challenge to every young Cameroonian.
“The stage for me is a big thank you to everybody working so hard to put me on the spot,” Stanley Enow tells CNN. “The stage is a place I use to share my time, words and messages to my fans. When I started, I asked myself, how do I make it? I had to use the words my people understand. the stage is what i use to be able to share my music with my fans,” he adds.
Even though he admits he was quite “nervous for a while” when he began his music journey and thought he couldn’t stand shoulder to shoulder with other music stars, the rapper now confirms that in his heart of heart knows he “was born to do this.”
“Being an artist is what I believe I was born to do,” Stanley reaffirms.
The Motherland Empire star reveals he prefers live performances at massive arenas because those whom he looks up to like Jay Z and Biggie all did great works while performing live at large venues.
“I want to be a legend. I want to pave the way… Being a legend, you have to honor the legends. You can’t be a legend without honoring the legends,” the rappers says.

Enow says he’s a proud Cameroonian who is even more proud of the fact that he’s making a living while making it in his own country. He reveals that the biggest challenge for the African youth is brain drain.
“Brain drain is something that really affects Africa, Cameroon in particular. Many African youths believe you have to go else where to get what you need but I want to tell Africans that they can be able to create opportunities … We can read, there’s internet. Let’s use it,” the rapper tells CNN.
“If you think that Africa is a dumping ground, then you are wrong. With time, the world is going to know us [Africans] better, not only by our music or football or politics but our rich culture because, ‘Africa, this your moment’. Let’s make this happen,” adds Stanley Enow.
