Balafon Music Awards 2017: Mr. Leo, Tenor, Daphne emerge big winners

The Balafon Music Awards 2017 saw urban artists in Cameroon taking over the music scene in the country. Mr. Leo, Tenor and Daphne stole the night by winning more than one trophy each for a great work done through out the year.

The celebratory event which  brought together some of Cameroon’s biggest music,  film and TV stars took place in Douala on December 13.

Mr. Leo was the event’s highest winner taking home, Best Male Artist, Best EP, Best Collabo and together with his record label mates, Alpha Better Records, bagged home a “Special Award” for their contribution to music in Cameroon.

  1. Best Traditional-modern music artist – DJ Gerard Ben
  2. Revelation of the Year – Tenor
  3. Video of the Year – Tenor (Bad Things)
  4. Song of the Year – Daphne (Calee)
  5. Female Artist of the Year – Daphne
  6. Male Artist of the Year – Mr. Leo
  7. Artist of the Year – Tenor
  8. Best Collaboration – Locko ft. Mr. Leo
  9. Inspirational Song of the Year – Locko (Thank You)
  10. Album of the Year – Sergeo Polo
  11. Best EP – Mr. Leo
  12. Achievement Award – Toto Guillaume
  13. Balafon’s Special Award – Alpha better Records
