The nominees for the 2017 Cameroon Fashion Awards (CFA) have been revealed ahead of the December ceremony in Douala.

“These designers, brands and fashionistas were chosen from hundreds of names and they represent the most creative talent and innovative businesses and personalities of the year,” CFA spokesperson Alfred ‘Fredash’ Nemfor tells us.

A handful of industry favorites, including young fashion designers, Ngwane Liz and Nkafu Sulet have received their first nominations. Breakout runway models, Freddy Mayongo, Audrey Lucie and Marie Graobe, have also been recognized in the Model of the Year category.

Some of the toughest categories would include Best Dressed Actress which clashes Syndy Emade, Nsang Dilong, Stepahnie Tum, Lucie Memba  and the icon, Solange Yijika; Best Fashion Photographer sees the countries most talked about camera men, Njinkeng Asongayi, Alin Ngann, William Nsai, Stanley Miki, Penjo Baba and Rhinda Luanga go head-to-head. The Best Make-up Artist will see Anyi Asonganyi clash with Era Era, Sandra Ekukole, Muenge Nkwanyou, Franky Naggy and Vicky Fokala. Yikes! Tough!

The Cameroon Fashion Awards is at its debut stage but hope to become an annual celebration of fashion excellence, recognizing the exceptional individuals and brands that have made remarkable contributions to the global industry.
