7 Fresh Fashion Designers To Watch Out For in 2018

It is December which means we are coming to the end of an amazing year. It also means throughout the year, we’ve heard of fashion houses bringing down the roof with their amazing collections but there were designers who were outstanding throughout 2017 and these names are definitely on our list of designers to watch out for in 2018!

They have fashion taste, styles and ideas and to see them come this far through the struggle is amazing. Please make sure you watch out for them next year.

  1. Ngwane Liz

Ngwane Liz, Creative Director of Margo’s Mode

Ngwane Liz, the CEO of Margo’s Mode Design did not only launch her phenomenal Heritage collection this year but was also responsible for  some 2017 top celebrity red carpet looks  such as Joan Ngomba‘s. She was also a major key player in the organization of the first ever Cameroon Fashion Designer’s Street Sales which enabled young designers to showcase their designs to clients directly. I see big things for her if she has come this far in a short while. She also picked up nominations at the Cameroon Fashion Awards and the Red Feather Awards 2017. VOTE for her Here.

2. Nkafu Sulet

Nkafu Sulet, Creative Director of Afrik Fashion Trends

She is the Creative Director of Afrik Fashion Trends, one of the country’s fastest rising fashion houses. She has made a lot of impact in the Cameroon fashion industry coming up with her designs, dressing celebrities and being part of the organizers of the Street Sales event in Buea this year. She also landed a nomination at the Cameroon Fashion Awards 2017. Vote for her Here

3. Bisi Courage

Bisi Courage, CEO of Bisi Designs

Moving on with this list, we have Bisi Courage, CEO of Bisi Designs who dropped her Memorata Collection early 2017. A Collection which featured colorful designs meant to embody happy memories and emotions. 4. Lakem Ojong

Lakem Ojong, Creative Director of DISTINGUISHED

Another beauty we need to watch out for in 2018 is Lakem Ojong, Creative Director of DISTINGUISED. The Buea-based designer is best known for creating adorable casual outfits and bikinis. She did showcase some of her designs at the 2017 Street Sales and says she has a surprise waiting for us in 2018 (She didn’t come to play.) I’ll give you a hint it’s about body positivity. 5. Staron Leo

Staron Leo, Fashion designer

He appears to be a wizard of Ankara outfits especially for the MEN. I mean anything you want in Ankara print he delivers. His designs feature a wide array of products from bomber jackets, bags, shoes, snap backs just to name a few. He is definitely going places and by 2018, he could be having his own fashion house. His sales are regularly done via his Facebook or Instagram

6. Prince Noni Oyibo

Prince Noni, Creative director of Noni White Wears

Prince Noni of Noni White Wears is also a designer we should watch out for in 2018. His work is based on street wears and he creates fabulous t-shirts and Menswear. This year Noni made social media buzz when he openly slammed Mr. Leo‘s fashion sense on Facebook – advising the singer gets a stylist before it’s too late. You can shop his line Here. 7.  Chautil Foubuzie

Chautil Foubuzie, Creative director of Koloz Designs

Chautil Foubuzie is the creative director of Kolo designs. She made an appearance this year in the fashion industry as she created easy everyday designs to meet the demands of work or just casual wear. She also included bikinis in her line to help celebrate the dry season (Shop here). The highlight of her year is being nominated for  the Cameroon Fashion Awards. Vote for her Here
