Congratulations are in order for Nkanya Nkwai, his cast and crew for winning up to six awards at the 2018 Golden Movie Awards Africa in Ghana, last night.

‘A Good Time To Divorce‘ was the highest nominated film at the event with 11 nominations and went home with six including: Best Drama, Best Story, Best Director and Overall Golden Movie.

The lead actor in the film, Alenne Menget got the Best Actor award while Anurine Nwunembom took home Best Art Director.

Although Nkwai couldn’t make it to the event, due to logistics problems, Alenne who was present in Accra, Ghana took the gongs on his behalf and made sure his director and movie fans also participated in the event by going live on Facebook during the show.

Back in December 2017, Menget told his fans that ‘A Good Time To Divorce’ is his best performance as an actor and urged everyone to go watch it whenever its premiered in Cameroon.

“I have done movies and I have done this movie. To me, this is my best performance ever. I entered the my character and lived in it as if it was real. I took more than a month to enter the character and more that a month after the movie to go out of it. I took this story with no iota of glamour. Give it as it see. It’s a sad but very realistic story. I have seen lots of this happen in my society, where people married for the wrong reasons. This is that movie that will take me to my Hollywood debut God willing,” he wrote on Facebook.

Although the veteran actor was recently put on a full blast on social media by actress, Stephanie Tum and blogger Bandy Kiki, he stayed positive and happy while receiving his awards on June 2 in Ghana.
