East African stars Huddah Monroe, Silvio Ferreira do Nascimento to grace CAMIFF 2017

The Cameroon International Film Festival (CAMIFF) 2017 is known for hosting some of the biggest names in African film and this year, Angolan actor and philanthropist, Silvio Ferreira do Nascimento and former Big Brother Africa housemate, Huddah Monroe will be guests of honor.

Nascimento and Huddah will be joining Nollywood superstar Ramsey Nouah Jr., and top Cameroonian film makers to highlight on the importance of film making and encourage the promotion and distribution of Cameroon films to the rest of the continent.

Nascimento was born in Lubango, Angola on November 11, 1987 and from a very young age, he’s always had a passion for acting. He began his professional acting career in 1994 and got his first gig in the movie “Reduce to Nothing” after relocating to Luanda. Despite a rough start, Silvio has gone ahead to win national and international awards. He currently participates in the philanthropic work for TPA1 to stop AIDS.

Meanwhile, Huddah (real name is Alhuda Njoroge) is a Kenyan socialite/model born October 11, 1991 in Eastleigh Nairobi Kenya and was brought up in Huruma Estate. She rose to fame in 2014 after she clinched the coveted slot of representing Kenya in the Big Brother Africa – BBA reality show in South Africa. Besides being a socialite, Huddah doubles up as an entrepreneur. She owns her own clothing line called Huddah By Vazzi where she stocks assorted fashion items. She’s also a brand ambassador for a beauty product dubbed BrightenMi.

CAMIFF 2017 will hold at the Mountain Hotel and W Cinemas in Buea on April 24 – 29.
