Despite taking home the award for Best AfroTrap/Hip Hop at the 2018 Urban Jamz Awards Saturday night, rapper Ngoma was a no-show at the event. In fact, he sent no representative to pick up his award should he win.
According to our source, the young rapper was in Buea and even lodged at the Chariot Hotel where the award show was taking place but refused to attend.
Our insider explains that Ngoma was angry that him and his team were abandoned at the Mile 17 park earlier that day by the Urban Jamz Awards (UJA) team when they arrived from Yaounde. The source also claims rapper felt “disrespected and neglected”.
Well, reaching out to Valery Atia, CEO of UJA, he explains it was a miscommunication problem and had nothing to do with disrespect. He told us that Ngoma’s team somehow forgot to communicate on their every movement from Yaounde to Buea that day which made it difficult for him or his team members to prepare to pick them up on time.
Atia also claims he was in Limbe to sort out some logistics issues when the rapper called that he was in already Buea. The event organiser said he was never given the chance to give them another option of how to get into the hotel rooms already booked for them because “they dropped the call and maybe turned off their phones through the day”.
However, some sources have confirmed to us that Ngoma and his team were spotted in Buea that day and even lodged at the Chariot Hotel where the award show was taking place but failed to attend the show.
There’s been no words from Ngoma yet. Stay with us, the story still continues.
