Pearl Louma has announced the launch of her latest ready-to-wear SHIRT Collection by Spellkootor.

The collection is a lifestyle-inspired collection that is informed by Pearl Louma’s expertise as a local designer. The new line is now available competitively at the luxury designer’s ready-to-wear space, and is produced in Douala.

Pearl Louma says of the launch: “the idea behind the Shirts is to do something that allows or can allow us [Spellkootor] to be present in every closet,” says Pearl about her aha moment.

This is the first time Spellkootor is venturing into making shirts for women and it’s “because we wanted to do something casual which you can decide to dress with heels or with sneakers,” says the creative director. “For the male, shirts represent like 90% of their dressing style,” she added.
Pearls further explains that the designs and fabric combination – embroidery, ‘afritude’ and plain fabrics –  is what differentiates them from the others. “Plain ‘afritude’ fabrics isn’t like our signature creations… So we like to play around with fabric,” she tells us.

Early this year, the designer showcased her previous collection at the launch of the Niki Heat Model and Management Agency in Douala and told us, “there’s no backing down now.”
