AFCON 2016 finally gets a united anthem – “We Are Champions”

Salatiel and Mr Leo are finally giving Cameroonians a reason to smile despite the current deadly strike in Bamenda.

The top music duo  have dropped their latest music work – We Are Champions

– a better rhythm which breathes life to the on going Female Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2016) hosted by Cameroon.

The video/song also arrives amidst massive controversy surrounding the official AFCON 2016 theme song by Charlotte Dipanda and Richard Kings which saw many Cameroonians lash out on social media for its poor and slow delivery and archaic music video.

“We Are Champions” video, directed by the country’s top music directors, Nkeng Stephens, Adah Akenji and Mysta Adrenalyne is a highly energetic, playful and colorful video which is full life, hope and visions of greatness to both the young and the old, male or female and anglophone or francophone with one purpose – we are united through sports and music!

“I had to get the best hands to do this project given the short time we had,” Salatiel tells DCODED TV. “I am happy the song tells the story of love, hope and unity and it’s coming during the female football competition we [Cameroon] are hosting for the first time. So it’s a good thing,” he added.

“We Are Champions” features top music stars such as Daphne, Minks, Valdez and Mary A and was produced by Salatiel.

Hi I am Emmanuel. I love this music. I’d never seen the first afcon national anthem by Shallot but I think this should be the video for afcon 2016
