“Most people now refer to me as ‘Mr. Calée’ and its fair. I don’t blame them or get hurt by that. In fact, I feel honored instead. However, I am also a digital marketer, founder of bequadi.com, a model and fashion lover,” Sama explains.
To buttress his point, the very charming and friendly hunk acquired a degree in Marketing from the University of Dschang as well as a Higher National Diploma in Marketing from the University Institute of the Gulf of Guinea. However, he says he loves the attention showbiz is giving him and plans to make the most out of it.
I would say I have a lot of fans and admirers now than later. Some people even think I am not from Cameroon. Brands also want me to associate with them. Movie directors have also approached me to act in their films. Over all, I think Calée video has given me a wide exposure.”
Yes! I knew I could be exposed to a huge fan base after that video because Daphne is one of Cameroon’s leading artists with a large fan base. So, it only normal. But I am also humbled by the love I received.
My love for fashion and modeling dates back to when I was just a kid. I used to always admire men who dressed well and men who embodied so much class. My friends used to call me ‘stylist’ when I went to the University. As I grew up, fell in love with fitness, people will tell me I’ll make a good model because of my dark skin tone, sculpted cheek bones and good physique. I believed it but never ventured into it until recently.
I get to wear free stuff (lol). On a serious note, I get the chance to work with some of the best fashion designers for men’s wear in the country. I have worked with designers like Men’s Wear Management, Louis Fame, Amah Bertrand, and Visco Ngenge. I’ve been able to work with good photographers like Studio 89. However, what threw me into the limelight is my appearance in Daphne’s music video.
I have always dreamed and loved to work with brands like PUMA, Calvin Klein, Mai Atafo, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and others like Guinness, CIROC and Veuve Cliquot. It might take time but I know with God, everything is possible.
