In 2015, popular Cameroonian socialite Nathalie Koah was condemned on social media when she claimed in her book, “Revenge Porn” to have been sexually molested and filmed on camera by famous African football player Samuel Eto’o Fils. Many around the world sided with Eto’o claiming Nathalie was no victim of circumstance but was merely seeking for attention and money.

Fast forward to May 2017, a boy named Epie Ntoko, from Kumba, filmed himself sexually molesting a young girl called Kelly for owing him 2,500 francs CFA and the world is now slamming Epie for his ‘evil act’ and begging for the Cameroonian police to seek justice.

Question is, how come Cameroonians are calling for Epie’s head on a stick but were happy to back Samuel Eto’o who allegedly did same thing to Nathalie?

Nathalie wrote a book on a man she used to have an affair with for seven years. In her book the now mother-of-one claimed Eto’o sexually molested her on camera for years and would even watch her have sex with other men. Almost a similar case with Kelly. The difference here is the little Kumba girl wasn’t dating Epie…yet!  Meaning he lured her into his room with the motive to “punish” her for taking his 2,500 francs even when she wasn’t interested in his plea to be her bed mate.

Nathalie’s book came out at the nick of Eto’o’s decision to settle down with the mother of his kids. Which unfortunately made the timing for Nathalie’s ‘Revenge Porn’ book a little off! Talk about ‘angry ex-girlfriend’? Many thought so.

Many Cameroonians also claimed Nathalie had the choice to end the relationship with Samuel Eto’o if she felt so uncomfortable with his alleged system of getting sexually satisfied but she didn’t. Instead she remained with him for seven years. Why? Was she comfortable with the lifestyle she was been offered? Was she so madly in love with Eto’o to not feel the need to leave him? Was Eto’o threatening to kill her if she leaves? Why didn’t she end it and walk away?

For Ayeni/Kelly’s case, she begged for freedom and forgiveness and even promised to give back the 2,500 francs Epie had given her. She pleaded not to be filmed. She complained about Epie’s method of punishment and could be heard saying “it hurts, please stop”. Did Nathalie do the same for all those years she stayed in love with Eto’o?  Rumors have it that it was Eto’o who ceased most of the items he bought Nathalie and she wasn’t the one who offered to hand them over when their relationship took a south turn. Did she really want to leave him?

Photos of Nathalie in bed with DR Congo super star Fally Ipula also landed online while the Indomitable Lions were in Brazil ahead of the World Cup football competition. Did Eto’o leak those as well? What was Eto’o really accused of and where was the proof or evidence? Was there a recording we haven’t heard of? What was Nathalie hoping to show in court or in her book as prove to have been sexually molested by the most famous football layer in Africa? It was definitely her word against Eto’o and his millions of fans across the globe.

Another point that’s worthy of note is the fact that Epie confessed to have recorded the video but insisted he didn’t leak the video, instead his friend did after one year  of the recording. He claims the police should help him catch the culprit who leaked the tape. Samuel Eto’o is yet to accept the sexual charges levied against him by his ex. Instead he went all out to shut down production of Revenge Porn and filed a 50 million lawsuit against Nathalie for defamation. A suit which scared off Nathalie and caused her to fold production and publication of her book.  Didn’t she know a suit could be slapped on her face should he go ahead with a book about Eto’o’s past affair – just when he’s about to get married? What was she thinking? Many again asked on social media.

Also the fact that Mrs. Eto’o never said a word to the press is questionable. Was she scared of losing her man if she reacted or did she condemn Nathalie as many did? Staying quiet simply made the entire accusation look like a lie. Why is the wife not pissed? Why ain’t she saying something? She could get a huge sum should she file for divorce… oops she wasn’t Mrs. Eto’o yet! Would she raise the topic now that she’s legally tied to Samuel?

The question of hypocrisy has been raised too many times when it comes to Nathalie Koah and many other sexually molested victims… but why do many people still insist she was just looking for attention and a means to earn some millions? Forgetting that, Kelly was also looking for some money to buy a blouse?

Nathalie now runs a business empire –  a lingerie line and a TV production company. Eto’o is currently devoted to his businesses and family. Epie is still a wanted man in and out of Cameroon while Kelly… is still at large.
