Toki Lala takes Christmas gifts to Internally Displaced Persons in Douala

Singer Toki Lala knows all about the importance of Christmas and that’s why she is taking good tidings to some internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Douala this season.

The Cameroonian musician, in the company of some of her celebrity friends, took Christmas gifts to an IDP center in Douala over the weekend.

Toki Lala told us that Christmas is her favourite holidays and it will be better celebrated with brothers and sisters who have been forced out of their homes, lands and families to settle on foreign soil, due to the three year old Anglophone Crisis in the country.

“I am so happy to come here and spend time with my brothers and sisters who are going through hell because of this crisis. I am happy to share the little I have with these beautiful people and try to put at least, a smile on their faces, even if it’s for just one hour. Christmas is a time to love, forgive, give and support and I am humbled to share time and words with my fellow Cameroonians here,” Toki told us, December 14.

The singer did not only carry along basic needs like foodstuff and toiletries, but she also brought herself to perform her latest song, titled, ‘Real Love’ with the excited crowd.

According to Lala, ‘Real Love’ is a song she wrote to express self love and worth. The singer explained that love doesn’t come with motive but should be selfless and pure.

“Women need to know how beautiful true love is when it’s genuine and pure. No one needs to love you because they think you are perfect. Love should not be used to cheat, lie and manipulate any body but it should be given to encourage, help, support and build,” the singer told the IDPs.

Lala was accompanied to the center by celebs like, Solange Ojong, Makon, Melcube, Deezy, Stephanie Yimga, La Fleur, Harriete Tatcha, Suzy Sparks, Joan Ngomba, ReneMatik and many others.
