“A hit song is a song that brings you money” – Tzy Panchak

Tzy Panchak is schooling his fellow musicians and fans on what a hit song is all about and we are here for the ride!

The Blu Nation star has his own meaning to what a hit song is and hey! Don’t be too shocked.

According to Wikipedia, “a hit single is a recorded song or instrumental released as a single that has become very popular. Though it sometimes means any widely played or big-selling song, the term ‘hit’ usually refers to a single that has appeared in an official music chart through repeated radio airplay or significant commercial sales.” Well, Panchak has something very vital to add.

“A hit song to me is a song that makes an artist, any artist,” Panchak explains in an exclusive interview with DcodedTV

“In Cameroon, you might think a hit song is that song that plays in the Francophone region or on Trace TV Francophone. But a hit song is the song that takes you to other regions and countries. It takes you to an international level. Its a song which takes your culture to other continents,” he adds.

The “Mad For Your Love” hitmaker has released big songs and even an EP, I’m Not Lucky, in the course of his music career and says one of his greatest abilities as an artist is writing his own lyrics to tell his own stories.

Few weeks ago, multi media personality, Steve Christian Fonkam slammed the star for lacking the ability of producing “hit songs” despite being able to release “a couple of good songs” and being “very talented.” Fonkam also called the singer’s latest song, “I’m Not Lucky” as “his weakest composition ever.” Well, Tzy says so long as his songs increases his bank account and improves on his living standard, his songs are hits!

“A hit song is the song that brings you the mulla! So any song that brings you money is a HIT SONG. I don’t need my song to play in the Francophone region, so long as it plays everywhere and gives me money, its a hit song to me,” Panchak fires back.

“If you’re an artist and your song plays in Kumba or Kwa Kwa and you are making a living out of the song, you’re making money off that song then my brother [and sister] that’s a big song to you,” the singer adds.

“Mad For Your Love has brought me money and has taken me and my music to so many different places… So, how do I call that song?”
