5 Easy ways to put your quarantine to good use

Hello Dcoders, we are so sorry about the long and restless lockdown period due to the Coronavirus pandemic but we want to make sure your quarantine is booked and busy!

Nicoline AJ, Makeup Artist at Niki Heat Beauty Studio, Douala – Cameroon is dropping off a few beauty tips on how to make your quarantine more useful, efficient and fun.

So here we go!

1. Go through your products and throw out expired ones

Take this time to do some cleaning. If you find expired mascara or lipstick, be wise enough to throw it out. It may be your favorite mascara or lip colour but there’s nothing beautiful about getting an infected eye or lip. Bad foundation can also give you all kinds of facial issues.

2. Wash and disinfect your Makeup tools

Our busy lives don’t allow us time to properly take care for our makeup tools.  From brushes to sponges, they are meant to be washed. They pick up products, dirt and sweat every time you use them so, if they remain unwashed for long, you will just be contaminating your freshly cleaned skin every time you use them. Use this time to clean everything. Dermatologists recommend that you wash your makeup brushes at least twice a month.

3. Organize your dressing table/stand

If you are anything like me, then it has been a while since you had a good look through all your beauty stuff on your dressing area or even did a thorough wipe down.

Use this time to clean up the sport where you keep all your beauty products so that you can find all your favourite and frequently used products in an easy-to-reach spot.

4. Become your own nail artist

Everyone loves the luxurious and pampering experience at a beauty salon but in this age of social distancing, you can save costs and time by becoming your own nail artist.

Some of these press on nails are even embellished with pretty stones. There is no skill or technique required, just press on and file. Removal is easy, just peel off, and you can switch your nail looks anytime you want without having to move outside your front door.

5. Try new makeup looks

We all have our favorite makeup looks but with all this time on your hands, why not try out some new looks. Take the opportunity to switch things up. This is the time to try all the looks saved up in your Pinterest account. Who says the lockdown has to be boring? If you need original makeup products, be sure to contact Niki Heat Beauty Studio in Douala.

Happy Quarantine!
