Sorry to bust your bubbles ladies, Nabil Fongod ditched all his female friends and chose his gorgeous grandmother as his lovely date to the grand premier of “This Is Africa TIA“ short film in Buea on October 7.
The 85-year-old grandma looked amazing in her trad-fab (traditionally fabulous) swag as she held unto the arms of her grandson on the glamorous red carpet at the W Cinemas.
“I kind of brought my wife to my movie premier (laughs). The thing is, I’m named after her late husband, my grandfather and when I told her I was doing a movie, she said she wanted to be the first to see it. Also, since my return to Cameroon, I’ve not taken my grandma out. So, this was the perfect outing for both of us and I think I managed to make it so special for her and myself,” Nabil tells us.
Nabil’s grandma wasn’t the only family who showed up to support the young hip hop star cum movie star. His parents – Mr and Mrs Greg Fongod – and other relatives – Mr and Mrs Fombe – were also spotted with pride and happiness hovering all over their faces as they posed for pictures before the eager photographers.
