Alexx Ekubo might be the leading man in the romantic comedy, A Man For The Weekend, but he was full of praise for the woman of the movie who stole his heart: his female co-star Syndy Emade.

Speaking at the premiere of the movie in Douala on October 28, the Nollywood superstar chatted about his admiration towards the strong female lead in the film. He said: “It is really amazing to watch a young woman take up such a challenge to not only act a movie but produce it and get actors from different countries to be part of her story. She [Syndy] is an absolute force to be reckoned with and I am just happy I was called to be part of this film.”
“It’s very hard to see girls do what she does these days. To be a film producers is a lot of work but she’s doing it and i pray this inspires many other young talents out there to follow their dreams and not rest until their goals are achieved,” the actor said in an interview with Nabstar Radio on Sweet FM, Douala.
Ekubo also shared more about acting as Syndy‘s man for weekend in the film… including talking about that hot steamy kissing scene!
“It was a great experience. She’s a professional. I mean, even though our kissing scene was really hot, and she doing more than just kissing me and she held me for one corner,” he joked. ” But over all, she’s good at what she does and does it really well.”
“A Man For The Weekend” premieres in Yaounde on November 5 with music performances by Blanche Bailly and Nigerian music star Wiz Boy.
